Long Overdue

I am seriously so behind. I have started so many posts, but then ended up saving them as drafts... and that is where they still are. It has been so busy with two little girlies, not as bad as I was expecting, but we just seem to simplify everything and blogging consists of either writing too long, wordy posts that I decide not to publish or just reading others' and noting how great of writers they are :).
Most days we pretty much just stay at home because it is just so much easier than going places :). However, both girls do really well when we go places it is just the whole preparation and getting the timing in between naps and feeding etc. etc. Ilene really is such a happy baby-her laugh is truly one of the best sounds ever! Alli was very happy and content most of the time, but Ilene has seriously taken it to a whole new level. I think it also helps that I haven't had to finish teaching school so we have gotten on a better routine quicker so we are all happier. Alli still loves her little sister and will "read" to her and lovesholding her. But she hasn't been smothering for the most part-another plus!

Just a big smile-not one of the BIG smiles :).
Ilene gives us the biggest smiles-as in she just really can not contain her joy so her fists are clenched and her mouth and entire face (literally) is smiling. This is usually right after she wakes up or after she eats. She is so much fun and just seems to already have this love for life and for people, it will be fun to see if this continues as she gets older. She tries so hard to "communicate" and jabbers A LOT! When she is tired and I mistakenly think she may be slightly hungry still she definitely lets us know she is frustrated. She moves a ton, we swaddle her up and she thinks it is her mission to get her arms out and do some ab workouts by bringing her legs up and lifting her upper body. She is super strong-she loves standing, and she sits up for a few seconds before crumpling:). She likes to "tease" as in we will give her the pacifier and she spits it out and smiles up at you, or you go to put it in and she blocks it with her tongue. She also DROOLS so much! And her legs-soo chunky, I love her rolls. Oh I just want to hold and cuddle and squeeze her all day.

Alli just gets more fun all the time, every single day she makes us smile and laugh with the funny things she says. She has so much personality and although she is super strong willed at times, I LOVE the spunky, sweet, caring, comical person she is. She is always on the lookout for As or Is and a few other letters-the favorite letter is definitely A though since that is for Alli. She is obsessed with books-as in we take a minimum of 5 with us everywhere and she will "read" them to anyone willing to listen. My favorite part about this is just how much she comprehends and remembers from each book. She has a crazy memory-read her a book once and weeks/months later a random detail may come back out. She remembers specific phrases that go with each picture. Probably her favorite right now is Fancy Nancy and my favorite phrase she says is "Ooh la la" or she will ask if she looks fancy (usually while she is dressed up in my old dance outfits...awesome). She loves "tickle attacks" and anything princess. She is really excited for her birthday-when she gets cake and will tell you what day her birthday is and hold up 3 fingers. She will sit quietly with her arms folded and ask "Is this what the big girls do?" Man I love this little girl, she can frustrate me so much at times, but she hates for me to be sad. She is super helpful and is very nurturing. In Nursery today she was so helpful in trying to cheer up some sad kiddoes by doing puzzles, and offering snacks. She is super into makeup and doing hair. She loves to "have a salon". So the lipstick-we were driving home and apparently she had snuck a tube of lipstick into the car. We get into the garage and I look back and she has the lipstick all around her lips. She was so pleased with herself because it was 'fancy' and 'ooh la la' she makes me smile with her love of make up and all things "fancy".

*She kept saying "ooh la la" and telling/asking how fancy she looked with her awesome lipstick on :).
She starting singing a song "I'm Messy I'm Messy" and sure enough she had put shaving cream on her hands and was squishing it so I put it on the counter for her to play with.

* We have season tickets to the Utah Flash (Ryan did some of their giveaway items so they gave us 4 court side tickets, it has been lots of fun going to games) and Alli loves going out to dance with the dancers when we go.

*Just about to head out to play in the snow last week.

* She thinks it is hilarious if we swaddle her up like a baby. She loves pretending she is the baby so she is "taking a nap" so we got her an old pacifier to complete the"look".

Well once again I have gotten pretty verbose, but eh what do ya do?? At least there are lots of pictures of some super cute little girlies to break up the writing! Most of my pictures are on my phone so I need to load those on soon as well.
