Magic and the Pilgrims

A few weeks ago we had a rotisserie chicken from Sam's club for dinner.  Alli asked if she could have the wishbone and of course she could.  So she broke it and made her wish...turns out she wished that she could be magic.  Somehow she realized that probably wouldn't happen so she made a different wish.  The next day she was playing outside and she asked/told Ryan (as she realized)-My wish hasn't already come true! He asked what she wished for and she wished she could turn into an animal :).  Clearly her imagination is alive and well!
On Monday she came home from school with lots of things to tell me about things she had learned.  That night though she started telling me about the children in the pilgrims and how there was a big storm and they watched their things go back out to the ocean with big waves.  Apparently a girl in our ward who is a 6th grader at her school is doing a fundraiser collecting money to send to the Philippines :).  Once I figured out what she was meaning I asked if she meant the Philippines and she laughed and said "Oh yeah".  They have been learning a lot about the 1st Thanksgiving and the pilgrims etc and I love hearing everything she is learning! I am so thankful for such a great teacher and I am especially grateful because I would not be nearly as successful if I were homeschooling her...in fact I think it would definitely ruin our relationship :).

When Dad's Away...

Well these first couple pictures of Cam actually go with the last post.  Cam was playing with Audrey and some of their friends' kids in Boise.

Lately Ryan has been out of town for work more than usual.  Like he flew to Wisconsin 4 weeks ago (granted these trips are short thankfully!!!) then had a full week home, then was in Vegas for a few days for 2 expos, and then last week had a mini trip to Canada for a meeting with a customer.  The first trip (to Wisconsin) we went to the pumpkin patch, but I did not have a phone so any pictures are on my mom's phone that I still need to get.  But it was a great pumpkin patch! The next trip we went to Target and then to Provo Beach resort-one of the kids' favorite little places.

Yup we are high class and ate dinner at the target food court :).

Cam kind of liked the carousel, but it kind of made him nervous when the animal went up and down.
He loved the play place though!

This is our second trip.  Funny thing is when I asked what they wanted to do the second day of his trip they really wanted to go back again.  So back we went :) Alli became a pro at skee-ball.  I think it is now in her top 3 favorite games :).  She loves the dog game where you have to push on a bone and it pops balls in the dogs mouth, she likes Deal or No Deal (I may have influence this one), and skee ball (I also have a thing for skee ball)... It was really funny to watch her intensity with skee-ball.

They really did like the mini play place! Alli was such a great helper with Cam.  She wanted to help him with everything and do everything for him.
She loved taking him down the slide!

And of course we took a few trips on the carousel.

This time grandma came with us and that made it much more enjoyable :).

He also had warmed up to the carousel so while still just a bit leery, he loved it! And notice his cute long curly hair...

We also have hang out time in mom and dad's bed watching shows.  I love seeing Cam sit and want to watch things with the girls.

Ilene got to go into primary for the first time on Sunday.  Don't mind the messiness of their room, just see my beautiful little lady all dressed up ready to go :).

Alli took Veteran's Day VERY seriously.  Last week they learned about the letter V at kindergarten and had a "real life veteran" come talk on Friday.  She loved that so much! So on Monday for Veteran's Day she made this flag before school and was very pleased with it.  After school Ilene was perhaps not so respectful of the flag and Alli really "explained loudly" what it is and how Ilene needed to be respectful.  It may have included phrases like "they died so we can be free" "other people don't want us to be free" and a few other gems.  I really did love hearing her patriotism come out!!!

And Ilene just because she is cute...
We had a dance party...not sure why Cam is holding the cleaner I had just used for the couch?
After school we went to the park for a bit.
Cam is such a cheeser right now and I love it!

Then we went to dinner and got ice cream before coming home for bed time.

Earlier this week I found these cute headbands for the girls on sale.  It was during Alli's dance class so while we were watching her dance I was trying to entertain Cam-he thought it was really funny.
Ilene just immediately started "posing" for me.
Alli had a "book it" coupon for a free personal pizza so after dance we got Pizza Hut for dinner.
 A lovely bath beard!
These are from Ryan's trip to Vegas for the shows.  It was the SEMA show so it is all these car associated companies.  I always think it is interesting to see the displays the companies put together!

Sadly when he got home he thought Cam should have a haircut.  We talked about it and I didn't realize he meant like right then and before I realized it-Cam was a new boy with a short hair-do.  Ryan did a really good job and Cam does look super handsome! I just wanted him to stay my fluffy curly haired baby for a bit longer.  o/well

Last weekend we had our ward Daddy/Daughter activity so Ryan had his own Daddy/kid time all morning while I was gone.  The activity went really really well :) And they had fun here.  Alli wanted to ride without training wheels-sounds like it didn't all the way happen this time.

And when Ilene got hungry (they had crepes for breakfast) she just got the giant ice cream from the freezer, hid in the closet, and helped herself :).  Ryan came in to check on her and she had come walking out.  He asked what she was doing and said "Nothing, I am not going to show you"-not suspicious in the least ;).

And Mr. Cam is just as cool as ever. Love this guy with his funny personality!!

On Sunday Alli wanted to pick Cam's outfit.  So she went in and this is what he got.  He doesn't usually wear jeans to church but she couldn't see his church pants.  He still is so handsome!
